As we celebrate 20 years of ministry and mission as a church, we asked the church to share some testimonies of how the Lord has been at work as they have engaged in life at Crosspoint.
Be encouraged by what Matt and Tiffany Wiegand share below…
Over 20 years ago, Dave and Heather asked us what we thought about helping to plant a church in Eureka. At the time, we were involved in a church that we loved and where our faith was really growing. We were excited to join our family and best friends. We knew what the Lord had put on their heart was something we wanted to be a part of.
Over the next couple of years, we met together, dreamed together, prayed together and watched God’s faithfulness in action. The team grew from 4 couples to many others continuing to join in and say yes. We all had very small children at the time and included them in our gatherings. Because of God, they got to witness and be a part of something beyond any of us.
It was a sweet time for our families.
Right before our first Sunday morning in the storefront, we moved more than an hour away because of a job change. We lived up north for a little over 4 years. While we were gone, our hearts were continually being pulled back to Eureka, our hometown and to Crosspoint. We would come back and visit on some Sundays and it was really hard because we wanted to be with our church family. God opened doors for us and we were able to move back to Eureka.
At this time, Crosspoint was meeting at the middle school because we had outgrown the storefront. It was an exciting time of jumping back in for our family. Our 3 little boys attended Sonchasers and we were involved in various ministries such as set up and tear down teams, helping with nursery and toddlers, Common Grounds, vacation bible school, teaching Sunday school, building team, finance team, and leading or being a part of different small groups over the years. We developed some good friendships with people to do life with.
We appreciate Dave’s teaching. He always points us to the Gospel and God’s grace. He reminds us over and over it’s about Jesus and saying yes to Him and His ways. We are so grateful that Dave and Heather said yes when God put it on their heart years over 20 years ago to plant Crosspoint.
It has been fun to watch God’s continued faithfulness. We love seeing new faces and hearing testimonies of lives changing, believers being baptized and people living in community with each other. We are thankful for all the different ministries at Crosspoint and how each ministry is a way for us to use our gifts to serve. The leadership at our church pours into the body of Christ and the next generation.
We are so thankful to have had an amazing church family to raise our family with. We and our boys have had a solid foundation in learning the sacrifice that Jesus made and the gift of salvation he has given to us. We are grateful for the teaching that has deepened our faith over the years and showed us the freedom we have in Him and His deep love for us.
Happy 20 years Crosspoint! We are thankful for how our family has been impacted and changed. We look forward to seeing God’s continued faithfulness and growing with you all.
