As we celebrate 20 years of ministry and mission as a church, we asked the church to share some testimonies of how the Lord has been at work as they have engaged in life at Crosspoint.
Be encouraged by what Darren and Jane Freidinger share below…
Jane and I started coming to Crosspoint Community Church in the early part of the fall of 2007, right after we moved back from North Carolina. It was recommended to us by a friend who knew a bit of our background and thought it might be a good fit. Once we came into the middle school for the first Sunday service that fall, we knew this was where we wanted to stay. There were many people we knew, and it was a very easy transition back to where I grew up.
From there, we’ve walked through MAJOR changes in life, and our Crosspoint community has been there every step of the way. House moves, fostering, adoption, leaving corporate life for the missionary life on the border, living a cross-cultural life on the border, transitioning back from missionary life on the border / sabbatical / debrief, back into corporate life, fostering (again), adoption (hopefully, again), etc. Someone from our Crosspoint family has been there for us in some way, with every step.
Theologically speaking God has been obliterating every preconceived idea I’ve had of Him and who He is, beginning at that very same time we started coming to Crosspoint. I’ve changed in so many ways in my thinking about God and living a life that reflects Jesus to this world. Crosspoint has been there for nearly all of it. I am truly thankful for those relationships that have been built and the freedom I’ve had within them to discuss, wrestle with, and even argue about these ideas, concepts, and views. There are a lot of different opinions and perceptions of how we are to live a life that reflects Jesus to this world. I’m truly thankful for the freedom I’ve experienced here at Crosspoint to be able to explore and live as Jesus calls me.
