Evidences of God’s Grace: October-December 2023

On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community.  Below, are the evidences (October-December 2023) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us.  You can read past evidences here.

12/31

We believe the next generation is the church of today, not just tomorrow.  So it is an evidence of His grace, when we see kids engaged in the life of a community group, and serving alongside their parents in ways such as SonChasers, reading Scripture on Sundays, First Impressions or a multitude of behind the scenes ways. Let us pursue a heart that reaches and prepares the next generation for ministry in the name of Jesus.

12/24

Repentance of sin never ceases to be an evidence of His grace. When we humbly choose to change our minds about how we are living, and turn toward agreement with the Lord and His Word, the Lord is glorified. When that change of mind leads to an outward change of action, the Lord is glorified. May the Lord give us hearts of tenderness toward Him, and His good and loving authority in our lives.

12/17

It has been so encouraging to see how the Lord is causing the growth among our community groups this year.  Together, we are growing as learners, as family, as servants, and as missionaries by His grace, Word and the power of His Spirit. When the church is not just going to church, but being the church, it is an evidence of His grace.

12/10

Psalm 34:14 says, Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it.  Romans 12:18 says, If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  When the people of God live out such truths and pursue peace and reconciliation of relationship with one another, it is a clear evidence of His grace. Thank you brothers and sisters for how you are making peace with one another in light of the peace we have in Jesus!

12/3

In late November, we finished up our Operation Christmas Child mission project!  Thank you to everyone who engaged in this project in some way; from praying, to volunteering at our drop off location or at the SonChasers packing party, to packing your own shoeboxes, to providing donations for SonChasers to pack up boxes.  Thank you church family!  260 boxes were packed by SonChasers and the shipping costs ($2600) were covered by our mission fund.  Over 1200 boxes (our biggest yet) were then dropped off and shipped from our property.  Let’s be prayerful.  May the Good News of Jesus spread!

11/26

Seeing spiritual growth in others is evidence of His grace!  For instance, when someone reaches out to the circle of people around them for prayer, it reveals a growing dependence upon the Lord.  When someone is expressing their trust in the Lord, despite difficult circumstances and an unknown future, it reveals the Spirit is at work.  When someone declares that they know God is still good even when they may not ‘feel’ like He is, it reveals that truth is overcoming lies.  Let’s remain watchful for His work!

11/19

Recently a Crosspointer shared this…”We just wanted to share this with you because we are so moved and thankful to be a part of this church family.  As you know, our family has been going through some challenging times, and today a fellow church family blessed us immensely in an unexpected way.  And it truly just broke me in a good way – it was such an amazing reminder that God walks with us and He will sustain us.  We are so incredibly blessed to be a part of the Crosspoint Community. Praise be to God!”

11/12

On October 29, we had Saba and Sulman Akram and their kids with us at Crosspoint. This summer, our VBS raised over $2000 to go toward their work in feeding children who are enslaved in work camps in Pakistan.  Their family was forced out of Pakistan due to persecution, but are still equipping local believers in that work. We gave another $2000 from our missions fund that will go toward the ongoing love and care for the children in Pakistan.

Bailey Lewandowski is an evidence of God’s grace.  Bailey recently celebrated her 1 year anniversary of being on Crosspoint’s staff, serving as our Children’s Ministry Director.  We are grateful for Bailey’s love for the Lord, for children and their disciple making parents, and for those yet to be reached.  We love her attention to detail, her thoughtfulness, and her burden to see the next generation rooted and built up in the gospel.

10/29

On September 24, seven households sought to publicly dedicate their children to the Lord in our Sunday gathering.  Children are an evidence of His grace.  Parents seeking to make disciples of Jesus at home are an evidence of His grace.  A church that is seeking to encourage, pray for, love and spur on fellow parents in their disciple making mission is an evidence of His grace.  May the Lord’s faithfulness abound in these households as they lead and shepherd their children toward Jesus.

10/22

‘Behind the scenes’ ministry work and the people who serve in such a way are an evidence of His grace!  For instance, we give thanks for servants of the Lord who have organized our kitchen area, who gave of their time and energy to lay sod and complete the backyard project, who are part of the mowing team, who blessed Redeemer Community Church in Minonk with a building facelift, who run our audio and visual, who set up tables and chairs for SonChasers, host churchwide meals and gatherings, and on and on.  Thank you Lord for these gracious and willing servants.

10/15

Recently, we gave $6000 to the benevolence work of Heartline/Heart House in Eureka.  With that gift and others like it, Heartline was able to help local residents with utility bills, rent payments, and other necessary items such as food and diapers.  Thank you for being a church seeking to live out our faith.  James 2:15-17:  If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself.

10/8

The Hype leadership team is an evidence of the Lord’s grace. We love to see how these brothers and sisters are seeking to reach and prepare the next generation. They are helping students grow as learners, as family with one another, as servants of Jesus, and to live as missionaries to their schools and friends.  Praise God for how students are not only growing in theological truth, but applying it to their everyday lives.  Lord, cause the growth!

So encouraging to hear a Crosspointer share this testimony, “I feel the need to always have something on (whether it’s music, tv show) instead of sitting in the silence with God and praying. My morning today was the type of morning where nothing was going right and I was feeling off. For the first time in a while, I was able to sit in the silence and pray to God during my drive today.”  Praise God for the growth that He is causing in all of us!
