Crosspoint –
We are excited to have Regan join us this summer as a college intern! She will primarily be serving in our worship ministry. Regan and her family know Pastor Dave and Jessica Wolfe (a Cornerstone Christian Academy connection), and we’re thrilled to see how the Lord brought about this opportunity for both Regan and Crosspoint.
Through the years, we have had other college students fulfill their required internships at Crosspoint.
- Pastor Kent did his summer internship back in 2017, while a student at Moody Bible Institute. He joined Crosspoint’s staff in fall of 2019.
- Chris Garcia served in spring/summer of 2020, while a student at Moody Bible as well. Chris is now a student pastor at his home church in Minooka, IL, and he and our daughter, Maddy, got married in June 2021.
We love the opportunity to welcome a college student to join the team and serve and grow alongside the Crosspoint family! We anticipate that May 19 will be Regan’s first Sunday with us. Please be praying for her as she finishes up her spring semester. Read some of Regan’s story below.
Pastor Dave S.
Hi Crosspoint family! My name is Regan Wilson. I am about to graduate from Cedarville University with a major in worship ministry and a minor in biblical studies. I grew up in Bloomington, Illinois. My mom, Amanda, is a Christian school teacher and my dad, Nate, works in information security at State Farm. I have one younger brother, Gabe, who is a freshman at Cedarville this year. He is studying Chemistry and Math but also loves music and using his giftings in it to glorify the Lord. He is probably my best friend. We have been able to sing in worship and acapella teams together over the past year which has been a huge blessing.
I grew up serving in the church and came to love Jesus at a very young age but my testimony has been one of growing in the Lord daily. God has been so faithful to continue to mold me daily in my walk with Him sometimes through fire and other times through mountaintops. I am reminded all the time that even in my failings, the Lord continues to be the author and perfecter of my faith. He who began a good work in me will be sure to bring it to completion.
I love the local church. I love being able to encourage, pray, support, and walk alongside fellow believers worshiping the Lord through all of life together. God did not create us to walk through life alone but rather to live in a community that holds each other accountable and encourages and pushes each other deeper in our love for Him.
I also thought I would share some of my interests with you all! As I have mentioned already, I love music. I play piano, trumpet, ukulele, and am working on acoustic and drums. I also sing and have been a part of bands here at school, a worship choir, and an acapella group. I love to travel! I have been to Israel and Guatemala and have traveled across most of the United States leading worship with Christ in Youth. I love nature and everything outdoorsy. I like to say that I am God’s creation observing the Creator through the created (I have some pretty cool creation pictures if you are ever curious). I go kayaking and hiking with my family and love to visit national parks. I love playing games whether they are board games, card games, or video games. And I really just love spending time talking with people – family, friends, and new folks.
I can’t wait to meet all of you and get to know you soon, but I hope that for now, this will give you at least a little idea of who I am.
