On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community. Below, are the evidences (April – June 2024) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us. You can read past evidences here.

For several years now, men (all ages/stages of life) have gathered on Saturday mornings at 7am (at Crosspoint). We praise God for this community group, and the relationships that have formed and continue to form with new brothers joining in. It is encouraging to hear the questions they ask of one another, how they pray for one another, and their desire to apply the Word to everyday life.

Yesterday, 15 Crosspointers arrived in Reynosa, Mexico to serve alongside Isaiah 55 Ministries for the upcoming week. We’re grateful for the gospel work Isaiah 55 has been doing in that region for years, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to join them in what the Lord is doing. Pray for the team of both adults and students as they work and serve unto the Lord. May they be a blessing to the mission there.

Eric (Pig) and Yvette Pigman are an evidence of His grace. They have been engaged in life at Crosspoint for year, and active members of His Body. Pig has been our bookkeeper for nearly 3 years, and has been a tremendous blessing to our staff and the church. Yvette has been willing to share her gift of hospitality through desserts and treats at a variety of Crosspoint functions. We thank the Lord for the Pigman’s!

During the week of VBS, we will continually see evidence of God’s grace at work. We see it in the servants that gather to show and tell of the love of Jesus and His Good News. We see it in the children who will walk in our doors. We see it in the creativity of the team as they transform the building into a fun and inviting environment. We see it in the ways the Word goes out! May the Lord cause the growth through the faithful planting and watering of the gospel (1 Corinthians 3).

Praise God for how He is at work in growing and strengthening marriages. Here are three encouraging stories: Sin was confessed and exposed to the light of the Lord, and the other spouse is choosing forgiveness and the couples’ spiritual intimacy is deepening. Believing spouses are prayerfully and faithfully living as Christlike testimonies to their unbelieving spouses. Couples are taking next steps in praying with one another out loud.

In Christ we are servants, following in His example who came to serve and not be served. So we rejoice greatly when we see servants of Jesus step into challenging new roles that are outside of their comfort zones. Servants who are newer to the church, excited to jump in; and those who have been here for years, pursuing a faithful, available, teachable spirit. Thank you Lord! The Body is most effective when the whole Body is engaged in serving as Jesus served.

We are excited to have Regan Wilson join us this summer as a college intern! Today is her first Sunday! We’re thrilled to see how the Lord brought about this opportunity for both Regan and Crosspoint. Through the years, we have had other college students fulfill their required internships at Crosspoint, including Pastor Kent back in 2017. We love the opportunity to welcome a college student to join the team and serve and grow alongside the Crosspoint family!

In today’s passage in Acts, we read of a couple (Priscilla and Aquila) who were active in making disciples of Jesus. We rejoice at how so many Crosspointers (of varying marital statuses) are living as disciplemakers. In formal ministries such as Hype and SonChasers, and community group leaders. And in informal ways through the people of God simply pursuing others in love seeking to show and tell of what it means to follow in the Way of Jesus.

How encouraging to hear of a Crosspointer who will be serving on the mission team to Isaiah 55 in Reynosa, Mexico in June. She was unsure of how the Lord was going to financially provide for the cost of her trip, and yet through expected and unexpected ways, the Lord has provided. How beautiful to see God’s people walking by faith, trusting the Lord, and the Lord making a way possible.

On April 14, four households sought to publicly dedicate their children to the Lord in our Sunday gathering. Children are an evidence of His grace. Parents seeking to make disciples of Jesus at home are an evidence of His grace. A church that is seeking to encourage, pray for, love and spur on fellow parents in their disciple making mission is an evidence of His grace. May the Lord’s faithfulness abound in these households as they lead and shepherd their children toward Jesus.

Households who are active in fostering and/or adopting children are an evidence of God’s grace! Several years ago, Crosspoint began an adoption fund that is administered by the ministry, Lifesong for Orphans. These funds are set aside to help meet the financial needs of those pursuing adoption. We are grateful for the opportunity to help partner with fellow believers in living out the Biblical call to care for the orphan. If you want more details on the adoption fund, talk to Pastor Dave S.

When the people of God don’t rely on their own wisdom, but trust in the Lord’s wisdom, it is an evidence of His grace. We are so encouraged by how many Crosspointers are seeking godly counsel in their lives, and trusting in the Spirit to speak wisdom through such counsel. Proverbs 15:22 says, Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 12:15 tells us, The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

We rejoice at Crosspointer, Jennifer Dossett, who recently went public with her faith in Christ through baptism. What a joy to see brothers and sisters in Christ seeking to obey all that Jesus taught (Matthew 28:18-20), and publically testifying to His goodness and grace in their lives! Praise God, for His Good News continues to change lives!
