Evidences of God’s Grace: July-September 2024

On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community.  Below, are the evidences (July-September 2024) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us.  You can read past evidences here.

The ministry of ‘Special Connections,’ within our SonChasers children’s ministry, is an evidence of God’s grace.  These servants (both adults and students) help love and serve children with special needs, and in doing so, seek to love not only the child well, but their parents. We are ‘driven to reach people,’ and this mission begins locally.  We praise God for these faithful, available and willing members of the Body of Christ.

9/22

Praise God for how His people are seeking to be dependent on the Spirit.  Servants are stepping out to begin and lead community groups.  Missionaries are telling of Jesus to friends and family.  Family members are pursuing peace and restoring strained relationships, and learning from one another in how to overcome sin.  Followers are abiding in the Word and spending time with the Lord.

9/15

The Lord is causing the growth, and it is for His glory alone.  Our fiscal/ministry year runs from September to August.  At the end of August 2024, our average Sunday attendance was 269 people, up 14% (32 people) from the last year.  On average, 71 (26%) of those attendees are SonChasers (5th grade and under).  Our weekly offering average was $10,100, up 5% from the year before.  May the Lord strengthen His church in this season, for His glory and name alone.

Here in the month of September, we celebrate Pastor Kent’s 5 year anniversary at Crosspoint!  He began as our student and college pastor in 2019 after graduating from Moody Bible Institute.  We love Kent’s heart and love for people, how he abides in the Lord, and how he desires to be active in making disciples of Jesus. What a sweet blessing to see the Hinrichsen family grow over this time. We thank the Lord for Kent, Amber, Mabel and Opal.

A while back, we received this encouraging note from someone who has begun attending Crosspoint on Sunday mornings.  “Truth be told, I’d never been to church before this, and I’m inspired by the sense of community you have at Crosspoint. Thank you for providing a safe space to learn and create relationships!”  We trust the Lord, who is present and able, is continually at work in and through His people as we gather on Sunday mornings.

Our Ethnos360 missionary partners and friends in Papua New Guinea are an evidence of God’s grace!  We thank the Lord for the LeBlanc’s, DeValve’s and Ames’ families, and the opportunity we have had over the past year, to have all three households with us in-person at Crosspoint, and to be encouraged through their words and way of life in Christ. What a blessing!

8/18

As a new school year is upon us, we are so thankful for the many Crosspointers who have joined in the mission to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus of the next generation, through SonChasers (birth-5th grade) and Hype Student Ministries.  We thank the Lord for our fellow servants of the Lord who are seeking to equip and prepare the next generation to be devoted to Jesus, dedicated to one another, and driven to reach people, together.  Interested in joining in with the mission?  Talk to Bailey Lewandowski or Kent Hinrichsen.

We’re encouraged to hear of evidences of grace among our community groups.  Evidences such as…members of a group choosing to gather together even when the schedule is full, members living as witnesses for Christ to their neighbors and friends, members who choose to walk in the light and share authentically about matters of the heart, and members who are growing as learners of the Word and seeking to apply its truth to daily life.

During this summer’s VBS, our mission project raised money to help students who attend Isaiah 55’s deaf school in Reynosa, Mexico (a ministry that we support on a monthly basis). Over $1800 was raised, which then covered the cost of five students to attend school ($360/year/student). Praise God for the opportunity to support and pray for the following five students (ages in parentheses) over the next year.  Valentin (4), Kenia (7), Méridan (8), Alexa (9), Kevin (14).

Earlier this month, Regan Wilson planned and led a night of worship and prayer for us as a church.  It was a sweet and encouraging night together.  We received this testimony afterwards, “My heart was hurried and my mind was full.  It was good to pause that evening to sing, to pray, to cast my cares upon the Lord who cares for us; and to do that alongside the family of God.”

7/21

During some weeks in the summer (June 30-August 11, 2024), we gather as a church family on Sunday mornings and SonChasers (birth-5th grade) does not meet.  We are thankful for the ‘signs of life’ that occur in and after these gatherings.  Whether it be a child’s voice responding to a question from the platform, or a 2.5 year old child quietly asking their parent, ‘What is Dave talking about?’ (yes this occurred), or items leftover such as a stuffed baby elephant, socks, or a Bible.  Praise God for His work in all generations.

7/14

The Lord is raising up missionaries from within the Crosspoint family!  Today, we pray for Lydia Williamson, who will be joining Cru as an intern in Orlando, Florida (August 2024-July 2025) to work in the animation of the Jesus Film (a powerful evangelistic tool that began in the 1970’s).  As a church, we are joining in the financial support for Lydia as she serves.  May the Lord bear fruit in and through Lydia, as she serves in the coming year.

A Crosspointer recently shared this…“God is good!  He provided.  I’m learning to ask for what I need and trust He will meet my needs.”  Praise God that He is causing growth in His people, as we learn to trust Him in all areas of our lives, including our finances.
