Hello Crosspointers –

The Lord is forever faithful!  He has been so good to us as a church through the years.  And none of that should surprise us honestly, because we know from the Bible that our God is faithful.  Deuteronomy 7:9a:  Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God

Being reminded of His faithfulness leads us to a place of thanksgiving and worship.  Psalm 100:4-5:  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Specifically over the past 3 years, we have been reminded of God’s faithfulness, goodness, power and provision for us as a church.  It was just 3 years ago, that we walked through the NEXT teaching series as a church family, and saw God do incredible things as we followed Him and His leading.

On March 27, 2011, 89 households committed to give over and above their current financial giving to go toward the vision of NEXT. Then on April 10, 2011, those who had pledged began to give. Some households gave a one-time gift, others committed to give weekly, monthly, or annually over the course of the 3 year campaign. During those 3 years, new households have also jumped in and partnered with us in our mission.  Thus far, over $992,000 has been given toward the vision of NEXT.  What an enormous blessing, and to God be the glory!

The overall cost of the purchase and remodel was around $1.6 million.  Between what we had saved up prior to the purchase/remodel and what has been given toward NEXT, we project that we will have under $200,000 left to pay off at the end of our 3 year NEXT campaign!

Here is our encouragement and challenge:  ‘Finish the Work.’  Crosspoint, could we together, by God’s grace and His power, pay off the remaining debt over the next 12 months (April 2014-March 2015)?  We believe we serve a God who is more than able and beyond compare (Ephesians 3:20-21).  The past 3 years have been a testimony of that.  When you take a step back, it is amazing to think that within 4 years, we could have the work paid off completely and that being less than 3 years from even beginning to meet in the building.

Crosspoint, thank you for giving sacrificially and generously. Thank you for not giving out of compulsion or guilt, but cheerfully and faithfully. Thank you for giving so that the Good News can go further and so more and more lives can be changed by the power of the Gospel.

If you have pledged to the vision of NEXT, our encouragement is to ‘Finish the Work.’  If you would like an update on your pledge giving, feel free to contact Krista at the church office.  We would ask that as the Lord provides for you and leads you, that over the next 12 months that you would continue to give to the vision of NEXT and help us Finish the Work by March 2015.

If you’ve started to attend Crosspoint over the last few years and aren’t currently giving to the NEXT vision, we would ask that you pray and respond as the Lord would lead you.  Partner with us over the next year by giving generously to help us Finish the Work.

To insure that the money you are giving is allocated properly, we would ask that you give your NEXT dollars in either NEXT envelopes (located at Guest Connections) or by marking your checks with ‘NEXT’ in the memo. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the church office (309-467-4968 or info@crosspointcc.org).

Also mark your calendars.  On Sunday, April 13, we will be setting aside that Sunday to celebrate, not us, but our God who is making it possible.  Together, we will sing, pray, and be reminded of the vision that Jesus has called us to.

In this season of finishing the work, may we be reminded that the vision of NEXT is ultimately about God’s glory and people, not about the building. The building is simply a tool that God has been using the past 2 years to help us pursue the vision of building 3D relationships, and seeing a community of people devoted to Jesus, dedicated to one another, and driven to reach more with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. Psalm 115:1 says, Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.”

So grateful to serve alongside you, so thankful to pursue this mission together, so humbled by our great God –

Dave Steinbeck, Lead Pastor

2 Corinthians 8:11:  Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.
