I’m excited about what is upcoming in January and February (2019).  I wanted to give you a brief snapshot so you can be aware and be praying.

Planting Together

On the four Sundays in January, we will be preaching from the letter of 1 Corinthians.  And we’ll be looking at four texts that we need to be reminded of, as we walk by faith toward planting a church in Minonk.  The series will be called ‘Planting Together: One Church, One Mission.’

I’m especially excited about this series, because we’re partnering up with Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso and Christ Community Church in Gridley, for it.  The three of our churches serve as the oversight churches to the Minonk church plant.  The senior pastors of each church (Wes Ooms at Community Bible Fellowship, Andy Huette at Christ Community Church, and myself), and then Pastor Erik (who is planting in Minonk), will be preaching this series.

Individually, we’ve each chosen one of the four passages from 1 Corinthians, and then we’ll be preaching on that text, at each of the 3 churches.  Personally, I’m excited to be able to preach at all three churches, and as your pastor, I’m thrilled that you will be able to hear from not only Pastor Erik, but my dear friends and brothers, Wes and Andy.  I love their heart for the Lord, people, and the Kingdom, and I believe we will be shepherded and encouraged well by their messages.

Living 3D

Then in February, we’ll be moving into a four-week series called Living 3D.  This series will encourage us in our mission and vision as a church, as we keep walking by faith.  We’ll be looking at the kind of people, the Lord has called us to be; the practices that we pursue as God’s people; and the postures we take on as His people.

In the years ahead, the Lord will not only be at work through the planting of a church in Minonk, but through the faithful testimony and compelled-by-the-love-of-Christ-ministry of Crosspoint Community Church in Eureka.

In the first two months of 2019, may the Lord spur us on as God’s people!

Ephesians 3:20-21:  ²⁰ Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— ²¹ to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

 

*After February, then we move into a 7-week series through Titus, then Easter, and then 5 weeks looking at prayers from the Psalms, and then we’ll be in the book of James for the summer.  On all Sundays, we want to be people who are anchored to the Word and allowing it to transform us by its truth.
