On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community. Below, are the evidences (January-March 2022) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us. You can read past evidences here.

On Sunday, March 13, we were able to celebrate with Crosspointers, Stella Wilson, Andrea Kempf, and Linda Mayotte, who were baptized. We rejoice at how the Lord has been, is, and will be at work in his life in the months and years to come. Baptism is a picture that in Christ we’ve died with Him, and been raised to a new life in Him. Thank you Lord for lives that are changing through the power of the Gospel and your Spirit.

By God’s grace, we were able to recently give a gift of $750 to a cross-cultural missionary family that has been stateside for the past couple years. Their home sending church is Eureka Bible, and they have been unable to return to their home in Malaysia since Covid. After much prayerful and patient waiting, the Lord has opened up a way for them to return to Malaysia and continue their work of equipping and encouraging missionaries to Asia. Our donation will go toward the costs incurred in their return to their home. We’re grateful to partner with local churches on the mission to go and make disciples of Jesus.

A testimony from a community group member… “I joined a community group to get to know people from my church, and to grow in maturity with my relationship to God. I have always been open about being a believer but have never had a strong group of believer friends that actually engage in discussions around what we have read in the Bible or what not. I have appreciated the chance to have deeper conversations. One thing that I have loved about our group is being given prayer partners. It’s special to be able to have your brother or sister in Christ confide in you and be able to confide in them. It takes a lot of trust and vulnerability to be able to come to someone and tell them where you are needing prayer and support. It’s been a great experience.”

A testimony from a community group member… “I’m a part of a community group because God has called us to be in community with each other and I love it because I am gaining so much knowledge by being with these ladies who are older than I am. God brought me to this group to show me how much he loves me and brought me into a relationship with him. The ladies in the community group has shown me who Jesus is. I love being a part of this group.” Thank you Lord for giving us the gift of one another in the local church.

The gathering of God’s people is a sweet evidence of God’s grace. Whether it is gathering over a meal in a home, gathering in a community group or class, gathering alongside brothers and sisters to serve, gathering on a Sunday morning, or a variety of other ways. To have the gracious opportunity to be physically present and with other family members, is a gift. It is an opportunity to encourage, pray for, build up, strengthen, comfort, love and a multitude of other New Testament one another’s. May the Lord continue to strengthen and build His church and our community with one another.

We’re thankful to hear and see of Crosspointers seeking to be a reflection of the God of all comfort to one another. Preparing meals, praying with one another, checking in on those who are hurting, being physically present with one another, demonstrating hospitality, etc. Let’s keep growing in this church. 2 Corinthians 3:3-4 says, 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our affliction,so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Crosspointers, Van Friederich and Eric Manning, are an evidence of God’s grace. Over the past two years, these brothers in Christ have been faithfully serving as our only sound guys. They have been so gracious and generous with their time and energy. Their “behind the scenes” role is so vital, not only to when we gather, but when we are a part. For instance, they, alongside the video team, help insure the livestream is effective, the message podcast is updated, and the AV equipment is maintained. Through their service, they help minimize distractions, and maximize our ability to engage in singing and the proclaimed Word. Interested in joining the team? Talk to them or Pastor Dave.

Crosspointer, Gerry Hetz, is an evidence of God’s grace. For years as a member of our staff, Gerry has been faithfully and lovingly serving as our custodian at Crosspoint. For the majority of the time, her role is done behind the scenes, and yet her attention to detail and thoroughness is a blessing to all those who encounter the building. She often flexes her schedule to accommodate the events and gatherings throughout the week at the building. She’s an active part of the Body of Christ, and we thank the Lord for her, and how she serves with love.

Crosspointer, Ellen Rigsby, is an evidence of God’s grace. Ellen has been faithfully and lovingly serving in SonChasers as one of the teachers who help invest into our 5th grade students. She recently shared this encouragement following a Sunday morning, “I am here to tell you that having a 5th Grade class is more than worth our time and effort. These students are deep thinkers, honest about their time with God and willing to be encouraged to invest more of themselves in prayer, God’s Word and their church community.” Thank you Lord for missionaries in SonChasers, like Ellen, who are following your commission to make disciples of all nations!

Crosspointer, Eric Pigman, is an evidence of God’s grace. In October 2021, Eric agreed to become Crosspointer’s next bookkeeper. He has been active in training and learning this role since then, and has been a great addition to the Crosspoint staff. We are grateful for how he serves behind the scenes to help us manage the Lord’s resources with wisdom and integrity. We’re thankful for how the Spirit has gifted him in this area, and how Eric is using those gifts for the good of the kingdom and the glory of God.

Since spring 2020, six new households have committed to covenant membership at Crosspoint! And more are in process of taking that next step! We rejoice that these brothers and sisters in Christ have found a home at Crosspoint and are engaging in the life of the church through serving, community, gathering, giving, and more. We rejoice that they have joined us in the mission to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus who live 3D together! Thank you Lord for strengthening and building your church in all seasons of life. You are good!

This school year, Hype Student Ministries has been working through and looking at the gospel of John. Pastor Kent and the Hype team has equipped students with journals that help them take notes and interact with the Scriptures as they study the book of John. Last fall, a student at Eureka High School who is both active in Hype and FCA at the high school, took the opportunity to share during a weekly FCA gathering from her journal and what the Lord has been showing to her through His living and active Word. We are greatly encouraged by this student’s boldness and faith-walking in the midst of life at school!

As the calendar turns, we give thanks for the Lord and His unchanging character and truth. Hebrews 13:8 says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Isaiah 40:8 says, The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. Praise the Lord for these solid anchors in the lives of believers. As Hebrews 10:23 says, Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. No matter what 2022 holds for us, we can walk by faith knowing we are held firm by our Heavenly Father (Psalm 139).
