Evidences of God’s Grace: July-September 2022

On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community.  Below, are the evidences (July-September 2022) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us.  You can read past evidences here.

Earlier in September, we were able to partner with Heartline/Heart House for their spaghetti dinner fundraiser.  It is a joy to see them be able to use our property and buildings for this fundraiser, and to see the wide range of community members partnering together for this event!  Thanks to the generosity of the community, the amount that was raised for their mission was up from 2021!  Thank you to those who supported and served.

In August, we began having Crosspointers read Scripture as a part of our Sunday service.  Typically the passage is the one that we will preach from that morning.  We have loved hearing the Word of God spoken by various voices of those who call Crosspoint home.  Praise God for His living and active Word and the opportunity we have on a regular basis to gather together as His people.

Three years ago, Pastor Kent joined the Crosspoint staff as our Student and College Pastor.  We love that the Lord has called Kent to join us in the mission of bringing glory to God by making disciples of Jesus who live 3D together.  We are thankful for Kent’s joy, passion, and love he has for the next generation.  We are grateful for His desire to shepherd like Jesus, in the fullness of His grace and truth.  Pray for Kent, his wife, Amber, and the leaders who are serving and investing into middle and high school students in Hype, and post-high school young adults in C-20.  May the Lord be at work in their lives in powerful ways!

Community Group leaders are an evidence of God’s grace.  We’re grateful for their desire and willingness to care for others and foster a gospel-centered community with fellow believers.  We’re also very encouraged to see how those not yet connected to a group, are taking a step of faith and trying out a group this fall.  May the Lord strengthen and build our community with one another, and enable us to love one another well in the months ahead.

Seeing the church linger after the Sunday gathering, to have extended time of fellowship, greeting, and prayer with one another is an evidence of His grace.  Brothers and sisters in Christ taking the opportunity on Sundays to live out some of the “one another’s” is a beautiful picture of the family being the family.  Loving and encouraging one another.  Thank you church, for seeking to look outwardly and walk in the light of the Lord’s goodness as we gather.  It is a gracious and sweet gift to be able to gather with one another.

Since spring 2019, our worship ministry has been led by faithful volunteers, and the Lord has worked in and through those brothers and sisters to strengthen and sustain His church!  Through all the seasons of the past few years, the Lord has been faithful!  Darin Gundy’s willingness to lead and coordinate our worship has been a tremendous blessing to our local faith family.  We rejoice in our worship team members, and how the Lord has provided Pastor Dave Wolfe to join our staff and begin to shepherd and oversee our worship!

We are so thankful for the many Crosspointers who have joined in the mission to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus of the next generation, through SonChasers (birth-5th grade).  We thank the Lord for our fellow servants of the Lord who are seeking to equip and prepare the next generation to be devoted to Jesus, dedicated to one another, and driven to reach people, together.  Interested in joining in with the mission?  Talk to Pastor Dave.

This summer, we have hosted a handful of workshops, covering subjects such as kids and technology, walking with and loving aging parents, and how to share God’s story in the midst of your story.  It has been so encouraging to see how Crosspointers and community members have engaged with these workshops.  We’re grateful for those who have helped organize and administrate these gatherings!

We are always encouraged when we hear of believers who are confessing of sin and struggle and as a result, walking in the light of God’s truth and grace with one another.  Praise God for believers who are living with the Gospel in view, and turning from sin and turning toward grace and freedom!  1 John 1:7:  If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

On July 3, Crosspoint gathered with six other churches in the Eureka area for a Community Worship Service at Upper Lake Eureka.  It was so encouraging to gather with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ for worship and fellowship!  Hundreds gathered on the hillside at the lake to sing, to pray, and to hear truth and the gospel proclaimed.  For it is the good news of Jesus Christ that unites us!  In addition, a combined offering was given ($2770) to go toward various ministries serving in Ukraine.  Thanks Lord!

During the week of VBS in June, we continually saw the evidence of God’s grace at work.  We saw it in the volunteers that gathered to serve, and show and tell of the love of Jesus and His Good News.  We saw it in the children who walked in our doors, both those who call Crosspoint home, and those who do not.  We saw it in the creativity of the team as they transformed the building into a great and inviting environment.  We saw it in the ways the Word fell on open hearts and ears.  May the Lord cause the growth, as we have been faithful to plant and water (1 Corinthians 3).

For the past 4 years, we have had volunteers mowing and taking care of the property at Crosspoint.  They serve behind the scenes in a way that makes a big impact both for ministry purposes and for our first impression.  This year, we’ve had new Crosspointers join the team, serving alongside those who have been serving in years past!  These faithful volunteers are a big blessing in the way they give of their time and talent!  If you’re interested in joining this team, contact Pastor Dave or Mike Troth.
