Compassion International

On April 24, we highlighted the work of Compassion International.  Several Crosspointers responded by beginning to sponsor children!  Thank you for doing your part in impacting children around this world with the Good News and love of God!

For years now, our SonChasers children’s ministry has been sponsoring children through Compassion as well.  That is one of our mission efforts as a church, sponsoring 8 children, and each week, during their large group worship time, the kids of SonChasers give an offering.  And those dollars go straight toward the effort of sponsoring those kids.  That offering is 100% missions, and toward the work of Compassion.  If you’re a parent of a child in SonChasers, we’d encourage you to talk to your kids as to why you’re giving them a dollar or two on a Sunday before they go into SonChasers.  Help them to see the larger picture of how that offering is not just some random activity they are doing, but how that offering is going to support and reach children around the world.

Crosspoint Vacation Bible School

Why is this included in a blog post about missions?  Because our summer VBS is a major outreach for us as a church.  Many current Crosspoint households were first reached through a summer VBS, and we’re praying the same will happen this summer.  “Submerged” is the theme for this year’s VBS, and it is happening during the evenings of June 19-23.  VBS Central (located near Guest Connections) is open and collecting donations for craft and decorating supplies. Check out the donations board this weekend and help make preparations for this summer’s outreach.  If you’re available and willing to serve at VBS, for all or part of the week, contact VBS Director, Holly McClain (holly@divahen.com) to get involved.

20th Annual ‘Race With Your Heart’

Heartline/Heart House is a local ministry that we support monthly through our finances and prayers.  On June 11, they are hosting one of their major annual fundraisers.  You can find out more about the run/walk here and sign up here.  This is a great opportunity to join with the community to help and serve others!
