On a weekly basis in our Sunday program, we share evidences of God’s grace and work in the life of Crosspoint and our community. Below, are the evidences (April-May 2020) collected into one post. May these lead us to an attitude of thankfulness to and worship of our God who is at work, not only through us, but in us. You can read past evidences here.

Faithful volunteers are an evidence of God’s grace. Jesus prayed that the Lord of the harvest would raise up workers to be sent into the harvest. We are grateful for volunteers such as Bri Herrman who has faithfully served to produce our Sunday program for the past few years. For Eric Manning and Van Friederich who have served in the area of Sunday morning sound during the pandemic. For members of our mowing team who have been taking great care of our property. For the countless others who are serving unto the Lord in all they do. Thank you Lord of the harvest!

Today, we celebrate Father’s Day. Godly fathers are an evidence of God’s grace. Men who are seeking to have a growing faith in Jesus and a growing humility in Him as well. Men who are seeking to live under the good and loving authority of Christ, and reflect our Heavenly Father to the generations that follow and the world that surrounds. Lord, may you raise up a movement of Christlike men who will live for your glory alone, as a way of life and in all that they do.

Over the past couple year, we’ve seen a young household begin to attend and engage in our ministry on Sunday mornings. They began to get to know people and start to ‘do life’ together with other believers. Last fall, they took the next step and became covenant members of Crosspoint. They’ve been praying for job changes (and asking others to join them in praying) so that they might be able to join the Hype student ministry team in the mission to make disciples of Jesus who live 3D together. By God’s grace, a new job has opened up recently, and they are starting the process of joining the Hype team! Praise God for His faithful work in lives!

Matthew 18:15, “If your brother sins against you, go tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother.” Ephesians 4:15, “But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ.” Ephesians 3:31-32, “Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice. And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Praise the Lord, for how Crosspointers are living these truths out!

Today, we gathered outside for our 10am service! What a sweet and simple grace it is to be able to see one another in person, and be together as the family of God. 1 Peter 2:9-10: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

We believe the next generation is not just the church of tomorrow, but they are also the church of today. We miss seeing the kids of SonChasers on Sunday mornings, and are so excited to see them again! We are encouraged at how in this season, the Lord is still strengthening and building our children’s ministry. For instance, we’ve had a Crosspointer say yes to becoming a new teacher in SonChasers, and she’s walking by faith and willing to step out of a comfort zone.

During this pandemic, the makers of the Dwell Bible Reading App have made their app available for free. Many Crosspointers have taken advantage of this app and began using it in their devotional life, as we are a people anchored to the Word. Be encouraged by this testimony, “Just wanted to thank you for sending out the Dwell app. It has really been a blessing for me to be able to use that in the mornings to focus on the Word for a few minutes. The music being played while it reads the scripture really helps me focus on what is being read. Good stuff!”

Work and progress continues on our Backyard Project at the church property! We are thankful for the Lord providing the money for this project through the generosity of His people, over many years. We are thankful for the contractors who are using their skills and abilities to accomplish the work and create the space. We are thankful for Crosspoint building leadership team for helping coordinate the project. We are so looking forward to using this space for gathering in the future!

Disciplemaking parents are an evidence of God’s grace! In this ‘shelter in place’ time, you’re walking by faith and adjusting to new rhythms and patterns of life. You’re redeeming the time the Lord has given you with your children, and seeking to shepherd them in the way of Christ, who is full of grace and truth. You’re helping educate your children with online school, you’re praying with and for them, you’re making memories with them, you’re seeking to be patient with them and training them up in the ways of the Lord. The Lord is faithful and He’s given you His Spirit to empower you as a witness for Him at home! Keep planting and watering, and may the Lord cause the growth!

In this season, the Lord continues to use the Crosspoint staff to pursue the mission of making disciples, and I (Dave) am so thankful to serve alongside them. Erika is keeping track of the books and managing the giving. Gerry has been cleaning classrooms top to bottom, and sanitizing every surface, in prep for us to gather again someday. Becky has been super creative in how to get resources into parents’ hands, as well as, equipping teachers to continue to teach. Kent is a Zoom ninja now and is finding ways to engage students in a virtual world. Chris has come at a providential time to help us in the areas of worship, video and communications. And Cheri has said yes to the Lord to join the team! Thanks Lord!

In this season, we have been hosting weekday conference calls (at noon) where we read Scripture and pray. We’ve been encouraged by this recent testimony about these calls: “It’s a nice time to reflect and focus on God in the midst of the chaos around us. And I love being connected with believers even if it’s not in person. It brightens my day! One day, Psalm 27 was read and a particular verse was so timely for my life. I am trying to cling onto that verse and lean more on God and study His word.”

In the midst of this pandemic, we recently received this testimony from a covenant member at Crosspoint, God has used this time to help me become more committed to my daily reading of His Word, development of my relationship with HIM and to share what God is teaching me through the Holy Spirit with others – even if it has to be remotely at this time. Bonus is that on Sunday I watch several online services and does change my FOCUS from – ME to HIM & praying for others. I am NOT afraid but awed by how God can use every circumstance to HIS glory.

We are in the midst of a unique season in our world, in our nation, in our state, and in our church with the implications of COVID-19. We are grateful for the technology that allows us to still connect with one another as the family of God. We love to see how community groups are engaging with each other via virtual platforms and electronic tools, and how the church is still gathering house to house on Sunday mornings to sing, to give, and to open the Word of God that we are anchored to.
